My two eldest uncles have no diabetes while my Dad and his two younger brothers are diabetics. They got it in?

their 50's because of their lifestyle as they have said. Their mother and father don't have diabetes. Their grandparents don't have it either.

The fact that they got it in their 50's does that already mean we have family history of diabetes?

Yes. People in your family are diabetic. So you have a family history. Not every 50-year-old person with poor lifestyles (I'm guessing overweight and unhealthy eating is what you meant about lifestyle causing diabetes) develop diabetes. The fact that 2 people in your family did means there's likely to be a genetic component which you may have, as well.

Type 1 diabetes is genetic and not type 2, type 2 is common in the over 40's overweight, bad diet and lack of exercise - I am type 2 diabetic and no one else in my family has it and I am over 40 etc

There is a lot of stuff on the internet that is basically fat-shaming diabetics for causing their own diabetes with their bad diet and lack of exercise and general lack of moral fibre. A lot of this stuff is written by non-doctors, often with a supplement or diet or training plan to sell that they claim will completely cure diabetes if only people stick to it.

I read this interesting book https://tr.im/W89qR that gave me a lot of useful tips about my disease and also a different perspective on the best therapeutical approach. I think you should read it too.

What type of diabetes are we talking about?

Type 2 (which is probably what you're talking about) is caused by genetics as well as lifestyle. Which means you have a chance of getting it too if you don't take care of yourself. You may even get it if you do take care of yourself. That does happen, especially to the elderly.

    Your answer is YES.

Yes. It means people in your family are prone to diabetes if they abuse their bodies. A good diet should dramatically reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

There are ways to prevent diabetes, What you eat, drink. Like drinking black coffee may prevent diabetes. I have diabetes and find black coffee will knock the sugar way down Also at least 1000 mg of Mulberry Leaf extract will help. I also take Metamucil capsule, any form of fiber intake, also helps.
