Insulin 30, blood sugar normal.?
A friend told me her insulin level is 30 but her blood sugar is in normal range? I've been researching what "30" could mean but havn't found anything. Also how can insulin be high but not blood sugar?
Thanks!

People can get their insulin and/or cpeptide levels measured (cpeptide approximates insulin levels) to determine how much insulin they are producing. That is most commonly done when somebody has diabetes and the doctor wants to know if the diabetes is being caused by the person not making much insulin, or by the person's body not using insulin efficiently.
People with type 1 diabetes generally have very low or nonexistant insulin levels, although some are diagnosed early enough in the disease that they still have low normal levels (which are expected to drop if it's truly type 1).
People with type 2 diabetes, when they are first diagnosed, usually have above normal insulin levels because their bodies are making as much insulin as they possibly can to counteract the high insulin needs that people with type 2 diabetes have. Usually type 2 diabetes develops after a person has had high insulin levels for many years- either the insulin needs increase past what their pancreas can make (if you have a BMI of 50, there's no way your pancreas will be able to keep up with your body's needs), or the pancreas gets worn out and starts producing less.
So insulin levels that are high despite normal blood sugar levels indicate that a person is at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes, although they do not yet have it. It's a good reason for a lifestyle change if possible, and possibly taking the medication metformin, which seems to delay onset of type 2 diabets by a few years in people who are prediabetic.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

it style of feels you've style 2 diabetes.that's the most uncomplicated style and takes position because your insulin receptors are transforming into insensitive to the insulin stages. So your body" doesn't " comprehend a thanks to make use of the added blood sugar. Insulin remedy is of no need.a good eating routine and workouts are mandatory.reduce down the carbs because it rapidly cuts down your blood sugar. The glucose receptors interior the muscular tissues at the on the spot are not insulin mediated so even in insulin insensitivity your muscular tissues can take advantage of the blood sugar so workouts will also decrease the ranges.good protein stages and espresso fat are also cautioned.Take favourite checkups and search for suggestion out of your health care professional.in case your blood sugar stages at the on the spot are not less than administration there'll be sensible impairment on your kidneys, liver, pancreas, eyes, blood vessels...... wish this permits ..... :)

The normal insulin levels are 5-20 mcU/ml during fasting (mcU/ml refers to micro unit per milliLiter). Therefore your friend's level of 30 mcU/ml is higher than normal. This probably indicates that she has a degree of insulin resistance, which means that her body's cells are resistant to the effects of the insulin that her pancreas produces, requiring more insulin than normal to be produced.
Elevated insulin levels are seen with:
Acromegaly
Cushing's syndrome
Use of drugs such as corticosteroids, levodopa, oral contraceptives
Fructose or galactose intolerance
Insulinomas
Obesity
Insulin resistance, such as appears in type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome
