Obama is by far the most left wing president in US history. There haven't been any far right presidents. Every Republican president, including Bush, has been a moderate.

I think its funny how Reagan ended up on someones far left list. That's one of the funniest things I have ever heard.

JFK and Lyndon Johnson were probably the most left of their time, but Clinton and then Obama will have positions more to the left of that, because the policies brought in during the sixties are generally regarded as the norm now.

To say that Reagan was a leftist is utterly wrong - he was definitely on the right. The disturbing thing about the US at the moment is that Obama is considered by the average American to be further away from what they think the average position is than Michele Bachmann.

FDR and LBJ were the most left. George W Bush was the most conservative even though he expanded goovernment. His policies were extremely restrictive on civil liberties in a modern context and extremely flexible with corporate culture.

George W. Bush was by far the most right.

The most left?? That's tough, maybe Clinton, maybe Reagan..certainly not Obama...maybe FDR.

Far Right: really Bush is in a league of his own there.

Far Left: FDR, JFK, Reagan, Clinton <-- I think those are pretty close

    Edit:

Well, I don't know what constitutes being "far left"...if it's big government, raising taxes, spending, and increases in debt, then Reagan is the godfather of the modern left since he did ALL of those things.
