Can someone explain this joke?

Question

Two chemists walk into a bar.

The first one says, "I'll have some H2O."

The second says, "I'll have some water too. But why'd you order it like that? We aren't at work."

The first﻿ chemist excuses himself and weeps in the bathroom.
His assassination plot had failed.

you have to hear the original joke, 
Two Chemist walk into a bar
The first one says, "I'll have some H2O."
The Second Says "I'll Have some H2O too."
The Second chemist Dies.

The reason is because the bartender hears H2O2 which is poisonous, thus killing the second guy. In this remake of the joke, the second guy doesn't follow along and thus lives. The first chemists was trying to kill him.

Pure H2O does not contain the minerals we need to survive so we would die if we drank pure H2O, so the first chemist was hoping the second would get the same thing and drink it.
