on thanksgiving day, do you say grace even thought you dont go to church?

ive always found that a bit odd, we set everything up, food is ready, family is there at the table, but then we say grace. we thank god for what we are thankful for, even though nobody in my house is religious. i personally dont believe in god, but we do it every year. i guess its just tradition.

First a query, do you consider in a new covenant or do you declare a renewed covenant? You might have an intriguing commentary, however is it the correct translation. I'm not a translator nor ever claimed to be, but after a little bit research that is what I found out and i'll furnish a link so you may see for yourself: "upon And the primary of sevendays interval having come together our company to break bread" this is the of verse 7. Sabbaton is translated sevendays which is sensible to me, so the first day of a sevendays interval would indeed be the first day of the week. Nevertheless, when you consider that your declaration i'll supply it consideration and look at it additional. Important points: On the primary day of the week, when we were gathered collectively to interrupt bread, Paul commenced talking to them, meaning to go away day after today, and he extended his message except middle of the night. 8 there have been many lamps in the higher room the place we had been gathered collectively. 9 And there used to be a younger man named Eutychus sitting on the window sill, sinking right into a deep sleep; and as Paul stored on speakme, he was overcome through sleep and fell down from the 1/3 ground and used to be picked up useless. 10 however Paul went down and fell upon him, and after embracing him, he said, “do not be anxious, for his existence is in him.” eleven When he had long gone back up and had damaged the bread and eaten, he talked with them an extended while until dawn, and then left. 12 They took away the boy alive, and were greatly comforted. Thirteen however we, going ahead to the ship, set sail for Assos, intending from there to take Paul on board; for thus he had arranged it, intending himself to go by land. "The midnight stated in Acts 20:7 was once hence only some hours after the sundown that had begun this Sabbath that was once recounted, or in other phrases, it was once only some hours into this Sabbath, and no longer after its finish." Verse eleven states Paul left at daybreak instantly following his middle of the night message. It by no means says he rested. Paul and the team that was once with him are touring, surroundings asail, and dealing on the sabbath, which would be in direct contradiction to your claims of maintaining the sabbath. I must as a consequence conclude right now that they have been breaking bread on the primary of the sevendays period, the primary day of the week.

We are Pagans, we tend to thank our Gods at just about every family meal... so it's no different on Thanksgiving.

But like you said, even though your family is not specifically religious, it's obviously a meaningful tradition.

I find it odd people still say "grace" in 2012. Not that I'm religous, but I figruered "grace" died down years ago and its simply "prayer"

I'm not close to my family (they are damn jehovah witness) but I can be thankfull all year, not just once a year on thanksgiving.

just start eating when they spend an hour saying the prayer. Tell them you dont want the food to get cold while they are blabing on and on about nonsense or the fact you are greatfull for the people who made the mexicans shoes so he can pick those veggies, and the people who made the tires for the truck that shipped those veggies to the store....
