Replaced my factory stereo and now my fm/am doesn't work?

2005 Chevrolet Colorado. I have the proper adapter. The aftermarket unit is a sony. Everything works great except for the fm/am. I have tested the adapter to the antenna and that is working fine. Any suggestions?

Update:

Would a broken antenna mean that not even static comes out of the speakers? When I turn the radio on there is nothing but silence. Also, how would you go about fixing a cut antenna wire?

You may have broken the wire inside the plastic tube leading to the antenna. This happened to me years ago. The wire inside is very thin and bending it the wrong way may separate it from the plug.
