Why do people not care about Tonya Reaves?

Everyone was taking advantage of and politicizing the death of the Indian woman in Ireland. Pro-choicers say she died of "not-having-an-abortionitis" before she was even examined for a cause of death.

Why isn't anyone outraged about the death of Tonya Reaves? She died of having an abortion. Her crappy planned parenthood doctors killed her and her unborn child. But there is no public outcry from you guys (the ones up in arms about Irish abortion laws). In fact, I didn't learn about her until today, months after she has died. The media doesn't care when that happens.

If the death of this unnamed Indian woman prompts looser abortion laws in Ireland, then why doesn't the death of people like Tonya prompt harsher abortion laws in the US? Or, perhaps, and this is quite radical, maybe we should try mourning the dead instead of using them for our own political agendas.

Update:

Unnamed Indian woman chose to come to Ireland. She knew the nation's laws and went.

Update 2:

There sure are lots of Red Herrings on the R&S boards today.

Update 3:

Hell Kitty, another Red Herring, really? Try and stay focused.

What good would it do for me to get "outraged" about what happened to Ms. Reaves? It's unfortunate, but there's nothing I can do to change it. Any anger on my part will solve nothing. On the same day that she died, thousands of children starved to death. Are you outraged by that?

With any medical procedure there is risk, even a tooth extraction. Tonya Reaves chose to undergo the operation and it unfortunately went wrong; she wasn't denied medical treatment that would have saved her life..

To say the Indian lady 'knew the laws' is a red herring in itsself--she did not anticipate needing an emergency abortion, she only asked for one when something was obviously wrong and she was in agony. Once she began to naturally miscarry there was only one end, the fetus was no longer viable and would have (and did) die on its own. Unfortunately just because it still retained a late heartbeat, despite the fact drs knew it could not survive, it was left inside so long that blood infection set in and killed the woman.

Pregnancy and birth is statistically far more dangerous than a medically controlled abortion.

But its not really 'saving babies' that a lot of you pro-lifers care about, is it? You certainly don't seem to bother with them once they are born. Seems more like some kind of religious fanaticism or plain old misogyny in many cases.

Truth--you've just proved exactly what I said. Punish women for the 'sin' of having sex and not wanting a baby...and pay the ultimate price of death, no less. You'll note no mention of any punishment for the male also responsible, despite the fact he doubtless cleared off the scene like a shot.

Perhaps. The problem with abortion is that congress simply doesn't want to bring up the topic and neither does the president because of the risk of losing votes.

People actually do care that they are murdering innocent babies and children but there is almost nothing that we can do that we have not already done. That's not to say that we will stop trying but let's face it, the government doesn't really care about the unborn children and the people can do nothing to change it.

    ...Democracy, my ***! -_-

Pro-choicers will use everything they can because suprise news flash, they don't care about human life or the dead. If they did, they wouldn't be pro-choice. It really is as simple as that.

Also, if she died of having an abortion then wouldn't you call that justice that she died along with killing her own child? I say that she deserved it (watch the hate comments come in but I don't care because it's the truth).

Who is that? Never heard of her.

She died from having an abortion? There are probably other woman too. But seriously let's be realistic (not mean)...she shouldn't have gone for an abortion anyway. Killing. It's the sad truth.

Stuff happens. That's why they sign that release. More folks die from anesthesia and doctor error by far....
