Does the Church of England's vote not to have female bishops shameful?

It's shameful that we as a species still allow ancient superstitions to rule our daily lives, yes. Also shameful that in 2012 so many people would openly support such a discriminatory stance on something when there is no valid reason for it. At least there's a good argument for, say, not letting women play in the NFL.

Considering the Church of England is a very watered down version of Christianity anyways ? It really doesn't matter. Having or not having female bishops is the least of their problems.

Bear in mind that the "epistles" of Titus and i and II Timothy were NOT written by Paul, they were written at least a couple of hundred of years later when the church had become much more patriarchal/misogynist. Timothy/Titus do not reflect the egalitarian practices of Paul and the early church at all and actually should have no place in the "christian" testament.

As for the Anglican Church's decision, it applies only in England, in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada the Anglicans DO ordain women as bishops. And the English Anglican clergy voted in favor of women bishops, it was the council of the laity that voted against it.

Man was made to Glorify god. Woman was made to Glorify man. Women's roles are supportive and therefore should not be in leadership positions. This is fact. Not being sexist. Besides there is nothing ancient about it. It may have been said long abo but the Truth of it is still fresh and young.

Do you believe The Church of England has a legitimate, God-given priesthood to give? If so, then it comes from God, and He has the right to say who should have it. If no, then why would you want these females to be functioning in a false religion?

I think so, it's 2012 not ancient times and we were all created equal whether you are a man or woman.
