Just here for the fun and giggles.
Why are the actions of God limited to things that would probably have happened anyway?
It seems that miracles have been on the decrease in recent centuries. Is God getting weaker?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhen God created the snake in the Garden of Eden, did he know what it was going to do?
It seems like he was setting the couple up to fail, is all.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoSo does God refuse to remove the Evil from the world because he cannot or does not want to?
Why else would the all-loving deity tolerate it's existence?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy does God need worship and praise?
Is it because he just likes to hear it, because that doesn't sound like the nature of a perfect being?
And why is the faith so important? Why allow cynicism to become a human trait if it is going to doom people to an eternity of torture? If God creates everything, why not give people a nature that will make them less questioning? It seems cruel to punish people for acting in the fashion he designed.
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy don't the Christians save all the morally good Non-believers?
Matthew 16:19
"I will give you the keys to the kingdom from heaven. Whatever you prohibit on earth will have been prohibited in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will have been permitted in heaven."
This pretty much means that Christians have the right to rewrite any parts of the bible, without limitation. So why not change the laws governing which people get into heaven.
Or do you want to see people burn merely for non-belief?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoChristians, would you find this offensive if it was said to you?
If someone said to you that you deserved to be tortured for all eternity for the decisions you made in your life, would you be offended by that?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoChristians, what proof is there of Intelligent Design?
No verse, No feelings of just knowing, no metaphors.
Clear quantifiable proof that is repeatedly demonstrable.
If you don't have this, please don't bother answer. Often things like this dissolve into muddying the waters so you don't have to address the point.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoSome Christians state that Atheism is a religion, due to their assertion that we beleive in no God?
In their eyes is being agnostic a religion?
Would you say "They believe they don't know"?
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoIf God was all-knowing, why did he have to wipe out almost all his creation with a great flood?
Why didn't he start his creation with Noah's family?
He would have known everything prior was going to fail.
Did he know that Lucifer was going to betray him when he created him?
Did he know Adam and Eve were going to sin when he created them?
Either he did, and he created them with that nature, or he didn't and he isn't all-knowing.
which is it?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoIf jesus died for my sins, does that mean that I am going to heaven, even if I commit the sin of not believing?
Because that means I get eternal paradise, and I get to keep 10% of my income!
Or was he selective about which sins he would forgive?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoIf God's followers convert people, are they "coveting the followers of their neighbor's God"?
Isn't that breaking one of the commandments?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoAm I responsible for the actions of my father?
If he sins, am I to be punished for it?
Of course not.
So how can I be guilty for the actions of Adam and Eve?
It seems like a tool used to force guilt onto the masses.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoDo you think that not believing in God justifies an eternity of punishment?
If a person lead a good life, does nice things for all around him, gives to charity, honors his parents and so forth, is he deserving of eternal punishment just because he doesn't believe?
To deny someone hapiness just because they won't sing hosannas in God's name makes his appear petty and needy.
Surely he would care more about how we treat each other than how loudly we can shout the Lord's Prayer?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoChristians, do you believe Christians of other denominations will get into your Heaven?
Methodist, Catholic, Presbyterian, Protestant, whatever.
or do you believe that only Christians from your specific sub-set get saved?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWould god prefer it if I stopped asking questions and did as I was told?
Does he want unquestioning followers or questioning followers?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoDoes God allow you into Heaven if you convert out of fear?
Whether it be peer-pressure and societal influences, a personal fear of death or a genuine fear of God, is a conversion based on fear still valid?
What if it is forcibly applied, like when the Vatican used to kidnap babies, baptize them and then refuse to return them as it would be "corrupting" the new-borns souls.
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoIf I intend to convert on my deathbed, so that I can live a care-free life, is that okay?
As long as I am genuinely sorry, it's okay, right?
I mean, I know of Christians who sin happy in the knowledge that they can be "really sorry" for it later, and consider this absolving their sins.
What I intend to do is no different.
Therefore I get heaven, and all the chicks, because chicks dig atheists.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoIf the old testament laws no longer count, why consider it part of the bible?
I hear people declaring that some of the more questionable laws no longer apply because Jesus said so? Is this because it was a different time? Is it time for the laws to be reconsidered again, as I was of the understanding that a lot of the passages that denigrate homosexuality originate from the old testament.
