Some Christians state that Atheism is a religion, due to their assertion that we beleive in no God?

In their eyes is being agnostic a religion?

Would you say "They believe they don't know"?

Atheism isn't a religion. It just a "personal relationship with nothing."

Atheists find it difficult to define what their own ideals are..

It is true that when one doesn't believe in a god whatsoever it can be defined as no beliefs but the question of the middle ground still remains, a no belief of god is claiming a non belief from a belief stand point..

Christians believe in God therefore Christians are situated on the positive side of the fence, atheists claim that there's no God therefore atheists are situated on the negative side of the fence, agnostics are on the fence..

Therefore atheists are not neutral, agnostics are more the neutral ones but even they are not truthfully neutral because agnostics need evidence of theistic reasonings or evidence of atheistic reasonings to accept or believe either of the two..

A neutral position would be someone that believes both that there is a God and there isn't a God at the same time, agnostics do not fall into that bracket because they are waiting for the evidence to commit their beliefs..

With all this in mind the conclusion is that atheists are in fact believing that there isn't a God and it isn't that they know there isn't a God, any atheists will tell you this..

What it is, is an entirely dishonest and utterly preposterous attempt to validate their religion, not by providing any evidence for it, but by trying to claim that atheism is a belief, just like their religion is a belief, and thus is wrong because their belief is the correct one. Somehow they seem to manage to ignore the fact that atheism is not a belief but a lack of belief, probably because it shoots their whole argument down in flames if they did so and they know it.

    Oh it gets worse.

Some say atheism is a religion, others even say Christianity is not a religion, just a relationship.

You can't reason with the entirely unreasonable.

If you define religion as "belief in God" then atheism is not a religion.

If you define religion as "having faith in something" then atheism is a religion.

However, Christians say that EVOLUTION (not atheism) is a religion because...well, I could go into all that later, it's a separate discussion. I've never said atheism was a religion.

Load -o- rubbish! I used to be an atheist. I did not believe in fairies, I did not believe in Santa in the same way that I did not believe in God. I don`t see how not believing in something can be belief.

God cam and knocked on the door of my life one day to prove that I was wrong in one of my disbeliefs.

I pray that he will do the same toa lot more people.

it just shows a misunderstanding of what a religion is.

a religion is not simply one opinion on one issue.

a religion goes a little deeper than that.

but depth is something most believers lack.

If atheism is a religion, then not collecting baseball cards is a hobby.

You can rest assured that to be an Atheist there is no need to bond with other Atheists, we do not need to form a club so that we can share our opinions, we do not even need to try to convince people that have a belief that they are wrong, they are of wrong course but we don`t feel the need need to convince them that they are.

they are just wrong when they say that. although i read an interesting article online the other day about an atheist church meeting in london every sunday. they sing secular music and the messages preached are things like talks on evolution and political things like global warming and other scientific things
