Does God allow you into Heaven if you convert out of fear?

Whether it be peer-pressure and societal influences, a personal fear of death or a genuine fear of God, is a conversion based on fear still valid?

What if it is forcibly applied, like when the Vatican used to kidnap babies, baptize them and then refuse to return them as it would be "corrupting" the new-borns souls.

No you will not Go to heaven. In Islam if you chose to be a Muslim, Then u should be a Muslim until the day you die. This life is a test. God test us every day every second, No matter what happens to you u should have strong faith in God.

If chose to change religion because they are going to kill you for exmp, Then that means:

    1) You afraid from people Not from God. (You should be afraid from God punishment on you)

    2) By doing so you proved to God that u have No Faith in him.

    3) So like that you chose This life, Instead we Muslims works for our Hear After.

This life is Finite, the Hear after Paradise is forever :)

There is "horror" fear and "respectful? fear. Fear where you are horrified by God is not good, whereas if you fear him out of great respect, that is good. To simply answer your question, conversion can never be genuinely done by means of force, coercion, pressure, guilt, etc.. Christianity is a nearly completely pacifistic religion (even though history obviously shows thousands of instances where Catholics and others have done the exact opposite. They do not follow Jesus when he said "blessed are the peace-makers"). In numerous places throughout the Bible, God tells us to genuinely love him, not apathetically or blindly follow him. He wants genuine love, like a bride to her husband or a children to it parents (not both of these at the same time, mind you).

Then you can't convert. If I put a gun to your head and say believe in God or I will kill you. if you don't believe in God, then you can't just make yourself believe in God because there is a gun to your head. The reason you don't believe in God at all is because the idea of God is not compatible with your logic. Something external of fear must found a belief in God. So if someone puts a gun to my head when I don't believe, the most I can do is follow the religion on the outside and keep the same mindset, unless I have a sincere revelation of God, then I really do convert. You can begin following religion out of fear of God, but why would you follow religion unless there had already been a conversion, you begin following that religion because you already believe in it... So I don't know, this converting out of fear is confusing me

The only fear that would make your answer yes, is the below verse.

Matt 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

People who believe in God and get converted because they are afraid that they will go to Hell, can get saved that way according to the Bible. A couple of verses that makes this a little more clear is:

Jude 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

1:23 And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

God is not forcing you to make a decision. You are making a decision out of your own fear, because of the penalty you think you will receive if you don't. God will save you, because it is his power you fear, not people. The Bible says, the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

When I was a kid, I feared my dad if I did something he told me not to do, but I did not fear him when I obeyed him. There was no reason to. This fear of God, I believe applies to us when we are first deciding to believe in him and get born again. After we are born-again and are his child, I don't think we have reason to fear him as in the beginning. We will make mistakes and not please him at times, but God chastises us to come back to him...it's not destroy us in hell as in the same way if we say, to hell with you God, I'll do my own thing. Now, I would have second thoughts if I were to think that way, but it would be questioning whether I really did get born again in the first place.

true conversion cannot be forcefully applied as you have to believe it. if your conversion is sincere and lasts then yes it is still valid. most of the fears mentioned should be gradually over come as you get closer to God and trust him more. If you truly understand some of who God is there will always be some genuine fear of God.

There has to be something more than fear there. Of course, even if you fear, you believe that Jesus did die for your sins, and that he is alive and the Son of God who loved you before you knew him. God will be the judge as to whether or not we are sincere and want to serve the Lord and be with the Lord for all eternity.

No, since fear can never be enlightenment.

It doesn't matter what religion you are,all it matters are your actions , as the saying "actions speak louder then words"

Do you think all church people go to heaven, they sing all day long,as soon as they step out of the church they forget everything about it.

You only goes to Heaven if you are a pious person. Eat meat, illicit sex, don't care to feed the poor humans and animals, are very sinful.

What is conversion in your mind? It's not just nodding your head and saying yes.
