Christians, would you find this offensive if it was said to you?

If someone said to you that you deserved to be tortured for all eternity for the decisions you made in your life, would you be offended by that?

    Hello,

No, can't say I was never warned about the consequences of making bad decisions in life.

    Cheers,

Well this is what I think of Jerry Falwell. As Christopher Hitchens said, "I think it's a pity there's NOT a hell for him to go to." Does that offend YOU as a fellow Christian? I feel the same about Pat Robertson. I guess if you're a devout Christian it doesn't matter WHAT us mere mortals say to you. But chances are good the mortal who said this to you (or who WOULD say something like this) knows you better than you know yourself. If you believe that you are forgiven for ALL your sins simply because "Jesus died for them already", then it's also highly likely that you have taken little to no real responsibility for your hideous behaviors. Why should you, right?

I should think that rather than wondering whether other Christians would feel guilty about an accusation like that you might want to consider what prompted it. Maybe reconsider the whole "my sins are cleansed by Jesus" thing and try saying your sorry to the REAL people you may have offended with these decisions. After all, what good is your faith if it doesn't make you a better person? Are you immune to critique from fellow humans simply because you're "saved"? I wouldn't feel offended, I would feel sad that this person felt so much hatred for me based on something I did to them.

Source(s): Vicarious atonement allows murderers and pedophiles to "go to heaven" just because Jesus forgave them, while innocent Hindu children get to go to hell. Does that make sense??

If I have been making such decisions the decision to be offended would be right in there amongst the stupid choices I have been making all along. If I am prone to make decisions that get me in such a spot for all of eternity, making the choice to be offended is just one more of those tensions I can bring on myself and consider it to be part of the torment I am already suffering. Easily.

    I would say:

Judge not and you shall not be judged@

Im a Christian and i admit i have tons of flaws dont listen to ppl like Mr Pheelps.

If someone says im gonna to hell thy will be there first

They must remember the Gospel of Matthew

Depends on how I understand the personality of God from my own bible. I cannot simply eat up anything just because someone dishes it. Neither should you.

the ones who think that faith saves are saying hitler is in heaven

the ones who say that works save are then saying that well-meaning satanists will be in heaven

if there is a mixture of the two required, there is no properly set out definition in the bible that specifies this

there is no actual way to get into heaven for anybody that doesn't have a contradiction, or a loophole

Not if they told me there is a way out, through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Not at all. God forgives those who sincerely seeks His forgiveness and, then, grows from His love and care.

Not in the least and not if it were true. He doesn't make mistakes...and won't leave any.
