Very Mild toothache after root canal treatment?
Ok so I have been having a lot of dental work done recently after years of neglecting my teeth. I have suffered in the past with unbearable tooth pain the problem teeth were extracted but my remaining teeth have been filled and I have had a root canal, with another root canal due tomorrow.
I had the procedure done last week and the dentist warned me that it could be sensitive well it was fine for two days no problems at all. But two days later when I went outside the cold air caused me to have a toothache in that tooth for 20seconds. It is nothing unbearably painful just midly uncomfortable, and I don't particulary need to take painkillers. It also happens when I drink cold or hot drinks. But mostly when I am going outside and breathing in cold air.
Is this normal? This isn't a sign that the root canal treatment hasn't worked is it?
Thanks
x

Not a good sign. A little pain after the anestheic wears off is normal. But you shouldn't have any pain now. Pop back as he will have to put it right.

Did they give you painkillers? Root canal can hurt like heck for a couple of days. Or it could be they left an exposed nerve , or the abscess is still there. If the doctor doesn't seem concerned about your pain, it's time for a new dr.

my root canal did the same thing too. i used sensodine and it help quite a bit. if it starts hurting when you eat too bad, your crown may be on a little high and they may have to file it down (takes about 5 minutes)
