They are also responcible for jobs going to mexico. Where my wife worked they protected people who stole from the company and people that were to lazy to work and made big wages so the company moved to Mexico.

As 'pizza' said in answer above. It was..... never ever ever....the purpose or any possibility of unions to 'create jobs'. Jobs can only be created by.....business (the private sector)...or government (the public sector)...and not by anyone else on earth. It was never unions purpose or any possibility to do so.
Unions purpose was (and can only ever possibly be)....to create higher wages, better/ more fair working condtions for people who already have jobs.... They can't do step one, about unemployment or creating jobs, which is strictly up to private business or public government.
As to 'minimum wage and OSHA/ EEOC'....None of these do or are meant to....provide a living wage (only a poverty wage), a middle class wage, advancement/ promotion, raises, vacations, sick time, health insurance, holidays off, any days off, any limits on weekly hours worked, any extra pay for overtime, any job security, nor any 'fair' treatment from employers.
The Minimum Wage... is instead set so a worker can reach the poverty level and be 'working poor'.
OSHA... is only concerned with safety in the workplace so that workers are not killed or maimed on the job.
EEOC...Is only concerned that there is no discrimination based on race/ gender/ ethnic group.

Unions don't create jobs. Unions offer better working conditions to people who have jobs.
