Help me i cant sing low notes!?
ok well.. im 13 and i sing great and everything i can get my voice in real tune but the problem is low notes when i try singing them like my voice stops and choke up like if it cant go lower i know i can do it i just need to know to make the sounds so i wont choke up do i need to take a breath frequently?
I also want to sing on the x factor when im 16 but i just need to train my voice a little so i dont look like a complete fool when im up on the stage. Thats been my dream since i was like 7 and ive been singing since then but of course i sang like a donkey but ive gotten better and i can now sing (just not low notes) so guys please just tell me this: how do i sing low notes and how do i do a good warm up oh and another thing before i forget, how do you sing in front of an audience because school talent shows not that far away from showing up in my school and i just get so nervous when im up on a stage even when theres no one in the audience i feel like i can collapse and i panic or do you suggest singing with another person :) ok well guys thank you soo much IF you answer i may put some deatils up once you answer so just keep looking on my question. Well i'm 16 and i'm a sophrano too. i can hit all those high notes and there hasn't been one i can't hit yet. i take vocal lessons too. why? because i can't hit anything ppl consider normal. i learned the key is to relax your vocal muscles and yeah even your tongue. wierd huh? the more you relax and the more air you put into those hard-to-hit notes, the more easily you will be able to hit them. i thought there was a huge trick to it but there really isn't. just use breath control, good posture (as in put your hands on your head and breathe in, then put your hands down. this brings the weight of your ribs off of your lungs so you can breathe more air in), and relax your jaw muscles. i can actually hit some low notes with good tone now, or at least that is what my teacher says... hope i helped! and good luck- i'll look for you on the show in a few years. i swear i won't forget!

I'm a Bass 2 who can hit a B1, so while this may work for me, it might be different for an Alto.
There is an vocal exercise when you go down any scale on the syllable "ming-ee". The reason basses use this exercise is because to sing low, you must put pressure into your nose, lips, and front of face region. Make a triangle with your hands; hang that triangle around your nose. That region is what you should focus on. The syllable "ming-ee" puts that pressure in your lips and in the front of your face. The exercise should sound forced; don't make it sound pretty. Each "ming" should POUND. Try it; it might strengthen your lower range. Ming-ee, ming-ee, ming-ee, ming-ee....
