I can NEVER sleep or get comfortable?
I go to bed and I just lay there for hours. It usually takes me 4 hours to fall asleep, even if I'm the most tired I have ever been. I get tired very easily and I just can NEVER get comfortable. 10 PTs best answer

That's too bad that you are having troubles falling asleep even though you are tired. I have a few ideas that may be helpful.
1. Use the time to pray, it helps you really relax and focus on a higher power like your Heavenly Father who cares and answers prayer. You just tell him all the things your are thankful for, talk about your worries and concerns of the day, ask for whatever help you need and end it in the name of Jesus Christ. However, you probably won't be able to end the prayer, cause you'll fall asleep in the comfortable peace of Got.
2. You can choose a position and focus on breathing deeply, With each breath out count. In..Out 1..In..Out 2 ..In Out 3. Only focus on the objectivity of counting with the breath out and the part of you that feels tired. See if you can make it counting to 30 or 100, you might be asleep before then if you really focus on doing it only and not thinking about anything else. If you have to start over, that's ok and you can guess where you might be and count from there. You will start drifting off into sleep unconsciousness.
Those are just a couple of things I've found that work for me.
During the day you can try to exercise 30 minutes, that is know to help people sleep better. You also may want to try a vegan diet, many people report sleeping better with that diet. Then, there are herbal teas for sleeping that are safe and nutritional.

Kick the caffeine out of your life, especially after 3 pm.
Try exercising between the hours of 3pm and 6pm.
Avoid TV, computers, or your cell phone 1 hour before bed. This stimulation makes it hard for your brain to wind down. Do something relaxing, like read or listen to soft music or write in a journal.
Try over the counter Melatonin. Note- if you are taking any prescriptions, check with your doctor or pharmacist beforehand.
Also, if you haven't fallen asleep within about a half hour after laying down, get up and find something to do, preferably something productive, like a little light cleaning or organizing. That little sense of accomplishment may help you relax.

ok if this happens to you naturally without any caffeine or energy drinks, then you can go to the doctor and ask for pills that will help you sleep, or a quick HOME TRICK: go on the floor and roll around 3 times, that should help you fall asleep faster.

It is normal for that to happen once in awhile, but shouldn't happen every night. Do you drink soda or coffee too late in the day? Caffeine usually makes me toss.

If you don't move a muscle at all, like NOTHING with your eyes closed for about 20 minutes your body should go to sleep on its own
