why are there so many salvaged scion xb?

I'm looking to buy an 08 or 09 scion xb and i am noticing a large amount of scion xb that are salvaged. Is this a risky car to buy? Everyone says just the rear bumper was hit and no other damage. It can't be considered totaled if its just a little cosmetic damage. 5 stars best answer. Thanks

Because they are primarily driven by teenagers.

Scion, as a brand, attracts the youngest buyers out of any other car brand. Most of its customers are under 27 years old. The younger drivers like to speed and try new things with cars. And they get into accidents from speeding and learning how to drive.

If the frame or bent, or the air bags deployed, or if the car was in a flood, it would count as salvaged, even if the car still drives perfectly fine.
