Upper Spine Pain (upper back)?

When i wake up every morning my neck (but really it's the top of my spine) hurts. after a half hour or so it goes away by itself. i normally have two pillows behind my head when i sleep. so i took one away to see if that helped. Nope still hurts. So i took both away, Nope still hurts. i took my normal pillows and added a pillow. Nope. I never have had this problem before. this had been going on for a few months now. Do you have any suggestions i could do to help this stop?

Upper back pain can result if you have too many pillows under your head and neck. I would use one orthopedic neck pillow to sleep on, one that properly aligns your cervical spine. Also not having great neck posture during the day (especially at work) can contribute to upper spine pain.

Also, go see a chiropractor- you most likely have a misalignment in the spine.

Finally, definitely do neck exercises- this help loosen up your muscles both in the neck and middle back.

You should check this Sciatica Natural Treatment

    http://cure-sciatica.info/

Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication

I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.

I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica. Try a reputable chiropractor ASAP!

This could be a lot of different things. One is the obvious - you injured your back and perhaps you should see a Chiropractor. It could also be your gallbladder if you are having other symptoms like heartburn and indigestion and pain under your right rib cage. There are other things it could be as well, but those are the most common, I believe.

Sounds like arthritus. Try asprin before you go to bed. Do stretch exercises for your neck but do them slow. Do them whenever you think about it, especially when you first get up.
