Prove that tan(y)/(tan^2(y) - 1) = 1/(tan(y)-cot(y))?

if you say "do your own homework" i'll just mark you as spam because i'm trying so hard and referencing to my formula sheet and still don't know how.

Look what happens when you divide both sides of equation by tan(y).

    tan(y)/(tan^2(y) - 1) = 1/(tan(y) - cot(y))

    Simplifying RHS:

    1/(tan(y) - cot(y)) = 1/(tan(y) - 1/tan(y)) = 1/(tan^2(y) - 1)/tan(y) = tan(y)/(tan^2(y) - 1)
