Types of carriages suitable for trail use?

I am looking to invest in an less expensive model of cart or carriage for a 14.2h stb. She is primarily driven on trails and occasional roads. Some of these trails can be rather deep, steep, have water, and be rather bouncy. What models and types to you recommend that are a good compromise on price and function? I want a good spring system for the horse and drivers. Needs to sit 2 at least.

The best I have seen for what you are asking are homemade contraptions made out of motorcycle tires and either their shocks or a similar system. There is a man who lives nearby that build carts but I am not sure who built the ones I saw made with the motorcycle wheels. They were for sale at that time, but that was years ago.

This is the best carriage maker I know - Pacific Carriage. I owned one of their for many years and it was extremely comfortable and exceptionally well made. Stick with metal carts, wooden ones don't absorb the shock and are too "bouncy." 2-wheel carts are less likely to tip over. Finally, you do NOT want any cart with bicycle-type tires. They can blow out and cause your cart to become unbalanced and possibly tip over.
