Can any lib explain what "fair and balanced" approach means?

we heard Obama say it 1000 times this year

but what does it mean.

Does it mean extending tax breaks for 98% and 0 cuts to spending?

98% tax breaks sounds like a fiscal conservative policy. The 0 cuts to spending sounds like a liberal policy.

But, its a lib who is advocating the tax cuts that the libs vilified Bush for, and that very same lib, Obama, said those "Bush tax cuts caused the recession"

Can anyone honestly take Obama seriously when he says anything like "fair and balanced"

Update:

@El T: I would expect the answer to actually define "fair" and "balanced" so that the plan can then be analyzed with respect to those two concepts.

Tax cuts to 98% of people (of course, we know a large percentage pay 0, so cutting 0 means 0, so its hardly a cut for that crew, its a "no change" for them). But, for those who do pay federal taxes, I concur that it is fair to extend Bush tax cuts (weird Obama never thought that was fair for 8 years prior)

"balanced" - 0, that's not balanced no matter how any defines balanced.

Update 2:

@Jack: What does Fox have to do with Obama's "mantra" of "fair and balanced" approach to government spending and revenue

Update 3:

@Charles: Can you give me a link to those costs on the table. I would like to see them. Does it include the Simpson - Bowles spending recommendations, for example?

Update 4:

@Warren: So, Obama was lying pathologically, daily. There is nothing balanced about increased spending. He said he would cut spending in a fair and balanced way.

Update 5:

@Joe: But what about the spending cuts? "A balanced approach to revenues and spending" - Obama

he said it over and over and over again

So, what about the spending? Where is the balanced approach to spending cuts, $0?

Although I disagree with it, Obama has put Medicare and Social Security on the table for spending cuts. I have not seen on person on the conservative side sign on to cuts in the military.

Fair and balanced taxation - people who sit on their butts selling their stocks (capital gains) should be taxed at the same marginal rates as people who work for their money. Income is income.

The first 250,000 or 500,000 should keep the same marginal. rates, income amounts higher than that should revert to the rates that existed before the Bush tax cuts. Everybody gets the same break on the first portion of their income.

That is the fair and balanced approached. Now, you will probably come back with a smart aleck remark about how what I just said is not either fair or balanced, don't bother, I am off to grub away at my job. Yes, a liberal who works. Hard. Every day. For the last 35 years, and 7 years before that (took a break to stay home and raise my kids with excellent family values). Sorry if that doesn't fit everyone's stereotype of a liberal.....

For any Lib to give an honest answer to your question, they would have to understand how things actually happen in reality.

So, I will explain it to you from a Independent point of view.

For something to be fair and balanced, then we must punish those that 'earn' their way through life and reward those that do not 'earn' anything at all. That's the definition of fair and balanced. For example: If someone wants to go to Harvard then they should be able to, whether they have money or not, whether they have the criteria or not, and whether they are able or not.

    Now do you understand.

Source(s): reality of fair and balanced.

To me "social justice" way justice being granted in an evenhanded and equal method for all society. "fair trade" is self explanatory. "development" can also be self explanatory. The whole lot we have now ever labored for as a nation contained social justice and fair trade and had the intention of progress. When the steam engine was utilized to the American frontier, we had progress which spread out fair alternate and allowed us to improve social justice. This is only one of hundreds of thousands of examples of american social justice and free trade via the course of progression. What would you have got us do? Be run by using one all mighty organization that had the power to deal with individuals it disagreed with as 2nd category residents, denied them the proper to do alternate or go into business for themselves, and avoided all types of scientific and human advancement? That's exactly what you might get without social justice, reasonable alternate, and progress. Why does it continually have got to boil down to 1 severe or the other?

He means fair and balanced, instead of the middle class paying more taxes and the rich paying no more like Republicans wanted when they tried to let payroll taxes expire and not taxes for the ultra-rich.

    I hope this helps.

Increase taxes, cut spending. It is the fastest and most sustainable way to eliminate the deficit and debt. Barry has put spending cuts on the table, CONnies are just pissed that he is not willing to throw the poorest Americans under the bus.

The republican led house brought 60 bills to the floor to NAME post offices. They did not allow a single bill to fix the fiscal insolvency problem of the post office to be addressed. So don't get confused mr. s**t for brains.

Edit: Don't you love how, when faced with an unpleasant truth, your typical conservative will pretend that it just doesn't exist or didn't happen? So here you have it. So... s**thead... no pithy response for me?

For a liberal to declare something fair and balanced, he must agree with it.

IT MEANS HIGHER TAXES AND MORE GOVERNMENT SPENDING
