When Great Britain raised taxes on the rich, 2/3s of them left the icountry. Would it be different in the US?

In California, the wealthy are leaving due to tax codes leaving the middle class and poor to make it without the job creators. Is funding the government for nine days worth losing the revenue in the long run?

Update:

That works until I decided to take my assets and leave. It works until I decide to make up for the loss of income by decreasing my spending. That works until I decide to fire the lawn man, the housekeeper, the tutor, the driver, the cook, and the nanny. That works until I decide that I earned the money and I want to keep it.

And they're moving to my area, driving like idiots, and buying up all the land to where property taxes and rent go through the roof.

Although they're leaving because the economy there slumped for a while due to the housing crisis and California's idiotic idea of putting infrastructure through a vote with no way to pay for it.

Don't come to Texas if you live in California. We refer to the California race as "carpetbaggers."

No the same thing could happen here but more likely the rich who have access to expert advice would find ways of putting their wealth were the IRS can't get to it

It is according to Mr. Obama and the rest who agree with him.

Many will just put their money in an off shore bank where the government can not touch the money.

  • The rich have politicians in their pockets in America. They will get their way in some form.
