If you can view the MP3 player's files in a folder when it's plugged into your computer, then you're good. Follow these steps:
1. If iTunes isn't already on your computer, download and install it (it's free www.itunes.com)
2. Connect your iPod to your computer and make sure it syncs with your iTunes (you'll want to get any issues sorted out before the next step)
3. Unplug your iPod from the computer.
4. Connect your old MP3 player to your computer.
5. When the MP3 player's music folder shows up, drag that folder onto the "Library" section of iTunes (near the upper left of the iTunes window). This will copy all the songs from your MP3 player into iTunes on your computer.
6. When the copying and importing is finished, unplug the MP3 player, plug in your iPod, and it should start to sync and copy your songs to the iPod automatically (if it doesn't click the Sync or Apply button).
