What is the tax added to the daily resort fee at Excalibur vegas hotel?
DAILY RESORT FEE
I understand the $15 part, I'm curious does anyone know the tax added to the 15?
"A daily resort fee of $15.00 (subject to applicable lodging tax) will be added to the guest room account and includes the following: Free wired high-speed Internet service in the guest room; free access to the fitness center; free incoming faxes; daily newspaper; free domestic and long distance phone calls and 2 free drinks per stay."
Thanks!

It's the Nevada lodging tax, which is 12% for hotels on the strip. (So $1.80 on top of your $15 resort fee)
This is because the government believes the resort fee is subject to the same taxes as the "regular" cost of your hotel room. Considering the resort fee is a mandatory charge, they're probably right.

Lodging tax is around 12 percent. So if the room costs $100 per night and there is a $15 resort fee, I guess they're calculating the lodging tax based on the $115 rather than $100.
