why is the air quality so bad around cedar rapids iowa?
we may have to move to the cedar rapids iowa area and i noticed on city data that the air quality is poor. i was wondering why?

The website you mentioned said the air quality was average to better than average. There was one category that was slightly above average, but by only a little.
The air quality isn't bad, you either misread the information or misinterpreted it.

The air quality is fine in Cedar Rapids. There's often a strong aroma from the grain processors (earning the place the nick-name "The City of Five Smells"), but that's not a health threat.

probably poor environmental laws in the state
lots of agricultural equipment polluting the air

I really doubt it is from agricultural equipment. see article below. maybe you could call the health department and ask them if this is common and why there is a problem.
