Can I use my highschool ID to cash checks?

I just want to walk to Fred Meyers to cash this check, but I don't have I license, permit, passport, etc. Although I do have ID from a local high school, which is a couple blocks away. It is only a birthday check for $100.

    No, you will need a government id - driver's license, or a passport.

    No that is not acceptable proof of Identity.
