For all of you who have been to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Plata, do they have mosquitoes at the resorts?

I'm wondering if what I've read is true. I have read that in the Dominican Republic, they have mosquitoes that bite at any time of the day or night and they carry malaria and dengue fever. Can anyone tell me if the resorts have mosquitoes like that or do they spray the resorts to keep them away?

Hi Silvinpower ! I´m a vip tour operator here in Puerto Plata and there are several very good hotel/resorts, it is all a matter of taste! The Iberostar is good, very good, but this is relative because what good for you maybe less good for others..... Anyway we hoop to see you you soon in the Bride of the Atlantic..... Gilbert

I have been on a few cruises to the Dominican Republic, there were mosquitos, but it wasn't a problem.

Lived in PP for about 5 months. Mosquitoes can be an issue at times. Bring your repellent.
