Please explain how to do it. problem: √4y-3 = √41 (everything is under the radical.)

    Square both sides. It removes the square-root.

    Then it leaves this:

    4y-3 = 41

    Now solve.

    4y-3=41

    = 4y=41+3

    =. 4y=44

    =. y=44/4

    =. y=11

    undo sqrt by squaring both sides. That gives you 4y-3=41. Then solve for y
