Sis in law is having a casual family gathering at her home and we are bringing a food item to share?

Would it be appropriate to also give her a hostess gift and if so, what would be a good choice? Thanks!

I always think a hostess gift is a nice touch. I like to go a bit outside the box when I bring something. Kitchen towels with some gourmet seasoning, flavored coffee, or soaps

If you DO bring flowers, PLEASE bring them in a vase already. I once had a HUGE party, and people brought me flowers as a hostess gift. Nothing like throwing a party and running around trying to find a vase in the middle of all the other crap you are doing!!!!

I don't think you have to but if you want to you could always bring a nice scented candle or fresh cut flowers or holiday candy.
