  • I have been suffering from anxiety my whole life.?

It has recently, in the past few months, gotten worse. I have been prescribed Xanax, which does help. The problem is that I hate taking it. I tend to get sleepy and just hate the idea of another chemical in my body. I have started hypnotherapy and am seeing an alternative med dr. Turns out I have extremely high estrogen levels, which are now being treated with supplements.

My problem is that I feel lik easily re when I have to pop a Xanax. I was feeling very anxious about an hour ago and took one. Now I feel better, but I also feel like I let myself down and took the easy way out.

Does anyone else feel "guilty" when they turn to their meds? I just hate myself for this.

  • Small bachelorette party activity?

My friend is getting married (her first) at age 42. We are having a small bachelorette party at one of those wine and painting places. The owner said we could bring in food. My question is the class is three hours long. People can do whatever during the class (eat, mingle, drink) however, I don't want to have any food that requires someone to sit down and eat. Looking for different types of finger foods that do not need to be served warm. I am having the usual cheese and crackers with some fruit. Any other ideas? thanks

  • Painting classes at restaurants?

I have heard about painting classes held at restaurants where you pay a flat fee and everything is included. An instructor provides direction and chooses the subject to paint. The whole thing takes about 2 or 3 hours. My friend went a few yrs ago, but can't remember what website she was a member of that offered this. I am in Chicago if that helps!!!

  • New Year's Eve open house food?

Every year we do an open house party on NYE (it is also my husband's Bday) We have people over starting at 5pm until WELL after midnight, in and out. THe last few years I have done either Gyros, Chinese food (kept hot in crock pots) or "walking tacos" all which were a big hit. This year I am looking to do something else that would be inexpensive and different. Typically by the end of the night, we have had about 30 people come through. Crock pots are a GREAT way to go since I have food ALL night long. Any good ideas out there? I was even considering a mashed potato bar, but not sure how that would go over.

  • What to serve 12 people?

I am having 6 couples over at the end of the month so we can all meet my friend's new fiance. Some of the men are BIG guys, so I don't want to skimp on food, but I also don't want to break the bank. We have a giant grill in our yard. I am NOT going to do burgers, hot dogs etc. We are all in our 40's and I would like to have a bit more variety. Ideas?

  • Weird question. Where do I find a troll doll?

I want to give it as a joke for a friend on Sat. I KNOW I waited too long, but I honestly thought I could just get one at the $$ store. It's too late to get it online. Any suggestions? I'm in a huge city, so stores are not a problem.

  • I am 37 yrs old, married, and we live comfortably.?

My best friend of 25 yrs has never dated anyone...EVER. She recently began seeing this guy (met online) and he is 38, lives w/ his parents and has a VERY small (and failing) business. I feel this guy has found my friend and latched on to her because SHE is successful, has a house and a nice car. The problem is that she is NEVER around anymore. She spends all her time with this guy and hardly even talks to any of her friends anymore.

The other day I told her how I felt and she got upset. She said that I was being unreasonable and harsh on her. SHe said she does not feel like she spending too much time with this guy (of course she says that) Then told me that if my comments continue to be negative, she no longer wants to be friends. Well that stopped me from telling her REST of my concern which is that this guy is just using her to be able to move out of his house and other advantages. I said nothing more except that I was sorry if I upset her.

I have decided that I am not going to even ASK about this guy anymore and I guess she is going to have to figure this out on her own. Am I doing the right thing?

  • Want ot have a "Walking Taco" bar?

I want to switch up my usual party fare with a walking taco bar for a holiday open house. My question is where do I get small bags of Fritos in bulk? I know WalMart has the Frito variety pack, but I don't want the other chips. Can you even BUY just Fritos in bulk? Also, has anyone ever done this? How does it go over?

  • I have a 15 yr old Aussie, who has arthritis.?

He is also becoming incontinent more and more. I am afraid that soon I will have to make a decision whether to have him put down. I feel like as long as he is eating, and not in pain, I can deal with the rest.

I do have a question though. If he dies of natural causes in my home, what do I do? Do I call the vet? It is not possible to bury him on my property since I live in Chicago. I HATE to think of all this, but it is a reality. Thank you.

  • Husband pretty much ruined X-mas for me (not the first time either)?

Ok. I will try to make this short, but still have detail. My husband of 9 years has been out of work for almost 2 years. He has gone back to school, recently graduated and is looking for a job. He is NOT lazy and does side work as well to make ends meet. However, ever since his job loss, it seems like he lacks respect for me. He has always enjoyed drinking, but now does it in excess often (he rarely did before) and blows me off for his friends who drink along with him. An example was X-mas. We have no children, so we were just going to spend a quiet day after church, just watching movies. Well he got a call from a friend asking him to come over for a quick visit. I cannot go along since they have cats and I am HIGHLY allergic, so he went alone. I asked him to just stay for an hour or so. He came home 5 hours later....and passed out from the "celebrating". It ruined all my plans and hurt my feelings. this has happened before, TOO many times. I tried to talk to him about it the next day. He said he was sorry (like always, but it is unfelt) and that I was making a big deal out of nothing.

Now I grew up in an alcoholic household, as did my husband. I do not drink for this reason, and my husband KNOWS how I feel about it. This has been going on for about 2 years now. He will not go to AA or counseling, so forget that. (the problem is not him...it's me) I am considering filing for divorce, but hae a lot to lose in the process. However, my health is not the best, and I feel like the stress of this is not helping. Any thoughts for someone in the same boat? Thank you
