Ipod Nano 5th gen "Connected Eject before disconnecting" how do I get rid of it?

I've seen similar questions but they just say to keep restarting it - I've tried it a bunch of times but it's still not syncronising into my itunes!

It's just a dark screen with a picture of the ipod jack-computer thing with the "Connected Eject before disconnecting." Sign.

I want my ipod to work! Please help me!

Have you been restarting by holding down both the home button and the power button until the apple appears? That seems to be the only fix, and sometimes needs to be done several times.

Manually restart your ipod. a million. flick the "carry" button on and rancid 2. press and carry the menu button and the middle button till a image of a apple seems, meaning the restart is sucessful
