Question about Chest Voice and Passaggio?
So i Joined a choir and i am in the Tenor section
I find that most songs only go to about the F4 in the line and i can hit it no problem in chest
But i find my passagio tends to get a little raspy after F sharp 4 and my chest stops vibrating a G4 and its all in my throat that is vibrating
Just wanted to know how to get more comfortable around my passaggio and stop this rasp
should also mention that i am relatively new to singing in my passagio area so i hope that in the near future my voice will adapt
as well as that i'm still relatively young (19)

When you do the scales, work a bit extra on the passaggio, so that your voice can get used to the jump from one register to the next.
You should also try something called the open throat technique...
Take a deep breath through you nose, make sure it feels natural and not forced, and be aware of your chest and lungs expanding. Keep the breath until for as long as you can and breathe out slowly by whistling softly. Repeat this a few times.
Now, take another breath, exacly like the previous time, but when you breathe out, keep your chest and lungs expanded as if you are not letting any air out. Repeat this a few times as well.
Breathe in again and sing a note while keeping your chest expanded like before. Repeat this a few times.
Do this exercise every day, starting at 5 minutes a day minimum, building up to 20 or 30 minutes as you go along.
Try to keep your chest expanded as if you are keeping the air in you lungs while you are singing, as this helps you sing over the passaggio much easier and also helps improve your breathing, and airflow.
