The Christmas Song by Mel Torme "kids from one to ninety two", does it refer to age? 92?

I have hard time believing they would arbitrarily choose a number 92.

If it had any meaning, it probably wasn't about age.

Is this a more plausible explanation?

"And so I'm offering this simple phrase,

To kids from one to ninety-two"

WU war code numerically 1-92.

It was written in a time when it meant what it meant. And that was all of us are kids at Christmas, even at an old age, of any age. We can all dream with excitement of Christmas goodness, and gifts, and family.

So you don't think 92 could possibly have been used because it rhymes with you?...lmao!

And so I'm offering this simple phrase,

To kids from one to ninety-two,

Although its been said many times, many ways,

A very Merry Christmas to you
