How long does flax seed last after it is milled?
I live in FL, and I buy all of my flax seed from a farm in Dakota. I was wondering if the difference in humidity affects the amount of time my flax seeds last after I mill them.

Freshly milled or ground flaxseeds should stay fresh for 2 weeks if stored properly (in the fridge, sealed tightly). It's best to vacuum-seal them but if you don't have the equipment you can also store them in a wide-mouth jar and "vacuum seal" with plastic wrap (cling wrap). Tupperware/gladware with interlocking lids would be another option.

Like the oil it is very perishable to light and air, but does have a longer shelf life in the frig and even the freezer, double bagged in Ziplok freezer bags, I buy whole and grind it in my spice grinder/coffee mill for use in my breads, smoothies and cereal applications
