How did you feel when swearing allegiance to the U.S.?
For those of you who went threw the immigration process how was you experience? how hard was it to to swear allegiance to the U.S. and denounce your country or origin? Was it hard? My wife did this and it was an emotional time for her in a good way but she had issues with disavowing her country of origin for a short time
Brother_Hesekiel how was your swearing in Ceremony? did you go with a large group? My wife did yet the Judge made all 500 of them were special and shook each one of their hands.
When my wife went they had flags for everyone and a copy of the Constitution was issued to them, I saw a lot of people with tears in their eyes coming out the doors and it was amazing how polite all of the people were and dressed conservatively, had no jewelry in their nose's no mini dresses no cleavages showing someone you would be proud to have a a neighbor or Friend.

Like Ms. Penny--I waited over 40 years to obtain my American Citizenship, for I also did not give up my homeland citizenship, so, I also have dual.
It was a very proud moment for me & my family, we were all dressed in suits & proper attire, having my 80 + year old parents, along with my siblings & daughter standing next to me, still makes me proud and brings tears to my eyes. It was a very moving moment, at least for our family.
Some of the other people were dressed in proper attire while others came to their oath ceremony looking like they were going out with friends to a local bar, or worse, just got out of bed.
We did not receive flags.
The only problem which I had is that you do not take the "Pledge" of Allegiance--- you stand and take the "Oath" of Allegiance.

I did not have to give up my homeland citizenship, so, there-fore I have citizenship of 3 countries.
As for the swearing in ceremony--to me a big joke, half the people did not say the oath, most did not even stand ! When I tired to congratulate most of those in chambers with me, they did not speak English. Imagine that.....
The judge was in a hurry--had to clear chambers for the next batch of folks who were to be sworn in.
Did not receive an American flag, some people do, some do not.
We received our "Welcome to America" booklets and we were told to move on..... lol

Took me 14 years to do this.
Looks like your wife took the Oath seriously, and that's a good thing.
