Is there any animal that has polyspermy?

    In animals polyspermy results in early death of the zygote due to transmission of extra centrioles from the sperm and this disrupts to the mitotic spindle formation making it impossible for cell division to proceed.

    Barriers to polyspermy are found in vertebrates, invertebrates and even in plants that lack centrioles.
