In your opinion is the bhagavad gita better than the christian bible an what does it teach?

I am an agnostic atheist but I got the bhagavad gita at school. I am kind of interested in relgiion so I am wondering what does it teach. I think it is used in Hinduism and talks about Kishna as a messenger for someone in a war or something. Anyways, I was wondering what is it like and if is a better philosophical book than the bible.

I think both scriptures are pretty good, but of course being a Hindu, my natural reaction would be to refer to the Gita if I need guidance etc.

The Gita is a text from which an atheist can get philosophical guidance; for example Baroness Shreela Flather who is a member of the British House of Lords said: "“I am an atheist and yet I am accepted by Hindus because, as far as I can, I follow the principles of the Gita, which I consider the most important Hindu book. In my small way I try to live by that. I do not believe in God but I believe that we have to live a good life on this Earth. We have to give out as much as we can.”

The main teaching is to do your duty as best you can and to accept that there may be a plurality of pathways to approach the same entity as Krishna says "All pathways ultimately lead to me".

The Bhagavad Gita in many ways is indeed a philosophical book too.

It does not contain rules and regulations but says this are the ways to follow life.

It does not insist that Man should to follow this book as it is the only way to God and the only true version. It gives one, another perspective of Life, Soul and the God.

The Gita was recited by Krishna to his cousin Arjuna who were at war to get back his kingdom from his own cousin brothers.

Krishna explains the Soul and its connection with God and how the soul in human form has to perform its duty in this world and so how it is Arjuna's duty as a prince and soldier to take part in the war.

    bhagavad gita 10/10

    bible 1/10

You honestly cannot compare the two in writing because its' just insulting to the vedic scriptures, to bible scriptures.

For Sure, Bhagwath Geetha is soo much more philosophical, non judgmental and superior to what the bedouins make. But its difficult to understand by commoners, therefore not popular.

The historic accuracy of the Bible makes it credible. Archaeologists have never been waiting to contradict a single element interior the text fabric. different holy texts have no effect in this and can carry their own weight in the event that they have their own credibility. (As I keep in mind, nonetheless, as quickly as I examine the Bhagavad Gita, I keep in mind analyzing an excellent sort of expressions, no longer information. The Bible became into initially written to mirror history, and faith became into many times a area situation.)
