"...we have not been beaten or broken."?

The statement from the rangers supporters assembly on Tuesday. Do you think Gers fans failure to turn up for away games against clubs who have been 'actively engaged in trying to harm Rangers' is an effective show of strength?

Update:

Jamie, that's not what the assembly statement said.

'The Rangers support has waited patiently for the opportunity to send a clear message to those that tried to destroy our club - starve them of their much-needed cash by boycotting this game.'

why dont The United Fans boycott the game also then Rangers will get half of nothing. then later those United fans who would have went can donate their ticket money to a worthwhile cause.

I personally take a stance on people or organisations that f'ck me around,in the past that has included pubs, shops and other businesses including Rangers. If any club acted toward your club in the same vindictive manner that the Dundee United chairman and their fans did towards Rangers, would you not f'ck it off. You can dress it up which ever way you like but you know the way he acted was out of order. It has come back to bite him on the @rse as well.

Source(s): Even decent people like zombiebrian came on here spewing hatred towards Rangers and their fans,i've never known him to do stuff like that, i'd put it down to your chairman's behaviour.

No. I actually don't know or can't fathom, what they are really and effectively showing, it is certainly not strength, but then again, maybe in their own minds and to them, it is.

I also do not like the way they are going about this. It seems like they are trying to tell The Rangers fans, how to be, what to do and what to think. It strikes me as bully boy tactics, whereby they are telling all of The Rangers fans, "you should not be doing this", "you are not a real fan of The Rangers, if you go" and acting as though "they" are somehow God and everyone should do as they say and if you you don't, you are a disgrace, a traitor, castigated and abused. They are trying to impose "their" views on all fans, which is wrong on any level. Fans should be allowed to make their own minds up about all of this, without this intimidation.

It's not a show of anything, we just don't want to go

Well i wouldn't boycott for that reason, they were quite right to vote to get Rangers out the SPL. But they shouldn't charge fans to see the same game just because it was postponed

Dundee United is the only SPL ground i would not go to

Maybe Rangers should have took the allocation and let the fans who wanted to go to still do that. There wouldn't be many, but there would be some

I like Lauren's idea, keep Tannadice empty

any SPL club who draws ra sevco in the cup should tell their fans to stay away to support dundee united ,as ive said before Greens not helping anyone ,he could have stated he and the club wanted a new beginning away from any past transgressions or bad publicity that plagued the old regime ,but instead hes pandered to their air of superiority and bitterness

Take them to a replay then don't go to Ibrox. Half of their gate money is better than nothing.

As I said elsewhere, if this had come from the supporters clubs and associations then it would have some merit. But for the owner to act like a big wean and try to ingratiate himself to the fans by acting like that, well its just embarrassing.
