My real estate broker exam asked "When is it OKAY to hire an unlicensed contractor?"
Choices;
a.) for jobs under $500
b.)jobs under $700
c.) when the work is done on your own to your own home and sold within 1 year
d.) when it is a relative....
Anyone know?

Just guessing, but I'd say D. My sister got screwed on a job under $700. Think liability rather than just quality of work. Does he have insurance if he falls off the roof? Probably not and it will fall on your homeowners. Not a good thing.

do no longer - till you have $ to throw away. If it is going undesirable you will spend lot of $ and time to get it fastened. additionally any business enterprise of fabric can positioned a lien at your residence if no longer paid. you're able to be able to desire to loose the abode in case you do no longer pay the business enterprise.
