My best friend and I are dating but it doesn't feel like it?
A little while ago my best friend (or a really really close friend) and I were web-chatting and she asked me out on a date. We made it "Facebook official" and it was really late so we both "went to bed" while we both flipped our **** with whomever we happened to be with at that moment. Today I was invited to my friend's house (and she lives with the friend whom I am now dating) and we all hung out and it didn't seem like anything. I mean it didn't feel any differently from when we usually hang out. We didn't hug longer than usual, we didn't do anything flirty and we didn't even call each other girlfriend or boyfriend. We haven't mentioned where our supposed "date" should take place and I know I'm probably freaking out on hormones and stuff right now and overthinking things but I have no idea how these things are supposed to work since this would be my first girlfriend. I'm a 16 year old senior, slightly awkward, and this (girl)friend of mine recently quit school and moved in with that other friend I hung out with so I don't get to see her very often either way. (P.S. her birthday's in 2 days). Any advice on how to do this whole thing?
I skipped a grade, that's not important.
Ok, good advice Dani, but I already hug all my friendgirls anyways.
Not so sure about that Spinelli since we just started dating. Seems a little soon for making out.

Well going from friends to more than friends can be tough. I've been in that boat twice. The first time me and him both liked each other. Every time he left I told myself the next time I saw him I would just make a move. But it never felt right. I felt like I wanted more but when we were actually together it felt like just friends. The second guy it happened with was worse. His friends all said he liked me. We went to a party and at the end of the night we ended up sleeping together. The next day it was like nothing had happened.. this went on the same way for a long time. But at the same time I never made a move either to hold his hand or anything. The situation is tough. It might have been weird for you guys because someone else was there. You guys need some time all alone, and just go in for a kiss. You have to go in head first. Then you can slowly make it more real in front of others. You should ask her what her birthday plans are. If she already has plans at night maybe you can take her out to eat for lunch or for dinner the next night, where you can be alone and do something to show you care about her. A romantic dinner and maybe a walk where you can find a park to sit and make your move to kiss her.

First of has she told you in person that she likes you and wants to date you? Bcz anyone can say things throught fb, text, twitter, whatev and not mean it or think it would be fun to say...i'm not trying to bring you down, but use caution with this, fir a couple of reasons, one: she is your bestfriend or really close whichever, which means that she knows all your weakneses....two: if things do progress, bcz she has been such a really close friend, and you have never been in a relationship, you could end falling in love more easily and get hurt easily too...Talk to her and ask her honestly if she was serious about dating you...and try to remain calm...

Well this has happened to me before and I HATED IT! You gotta act like your dating, maybe she's shy and doesn't want to make any moves but you gotta at least like, do something couple-y. Even if she wants to go slow you could at least do something. It'll just get worse the longer you guys don't do anything and then you might end up breaking up. And if you just started dating get her a present but nothing big since you guys haven't been dating that long. At least thats what I'd do. Just make a move even if it's a tiny one like a hug. Hope this helps

You should ask her about it. It's about communication. Also, a question- How are you 16 and a senior?
