How does (macro) evolution begin?
How does macro-evolution begin? I mean, where did the first piece of matter come from? It doesn't make sense to me that something can just all the sudden appear. Can something come from nothing?

With replicating molecules with less-than-perfect fidelity, in an environment where some will continue to replicate and some won't.

That has nothing to do with biological evolution. It's a matter for cosmologists and particle physicists.

The term 'macro - evolution' is one of those meaningless words bandied about by people who don't fully understand evolution. There is no point at which 'micro - evolution' stops and 'macro - evolution' begins; it is all just evolution.
Macro evolution is, if it is anything, simply an accumulation of micro - evolutionary changes.
Evolution is a gradual process. Even 'sudden' changes are only 'suddden' in the perspective of geological time.
Your question, however, doesn't appear to relate to biology at all. Questions such as 'where did the first piece of matter come from?' and 'can something come from nothing?' have nothing whatsoever to do with evolution, macro or otherwise.
Evolution is simply the process of gradual change whereby one species changes into one or more new species thereby creating a greater diversity of living things. It has nothing at all to do with the origin of matter.

No such thing as macro or micro evolution. its all just evolution. matter has nothing to do with evolution. after the big bang as the energy eventually cooled and became hydrogen atoms (the first matter) no one claims that something can come from nothing. all the matter that exists is simply a form of energy.
