yamaha yz250 or yz450f?

I cant decide which bike bike to get, i mostly go riding in the dunes some trail riding every now & then. i want a yz250 cuz their cheap to buy & fix but ive heard of them blowing riding in the sand. & the 450 i love the power. what do you think?

Update:

& also im going to get a used bike, any certain year i should be looking for? im going for 2002 & up

    If mostly the dunes- the 450, just a bit more than you would need for trail-riding but that's what riding is all about, adapting to the bike you're riding.

    If you wanted to race on a track the YZ 250 might be a better choice.
