Who is the next rising star Filipino boxer?

Will it be Donaire or Veloria or someone else? Two others got beat up pretty bad in the undercards.

I'm sure there will be more up and coming boxers from the Philippines. Boxing, Billiards and Poker do not take a university degree to be successful. This is reminiscent of the US during the Depression where many Americans took to prize fighting to put food on the table for their families. This is much the same for the poor Mexicans who are in the same boat now that the Filipinos are in. Its the only way they can "legally" make a living for their family.

Update:

Maybe Donaire. He is good. By the way, "aire" is Spanish for "air". Don Aire could be Mister Air. In the Philippines it could be just a family name with no real significance.

I'd say Nonito Doneyr, este, Donaire. WAHAHAHAHA. He is currently holding 4 weight-division championship belts. Plus, if you could browse through his previous fights, I can say that he couldfollow the steps of PacMan. :)

I'll go for the Filipino Flash.

He is a four-division world champion and the reigning WBO, The Ring and WBC Diamond Super Bantamweight Champion. He is also the former IBF Super Bantamweight, WBC and WBO Bantamweight, Interim WBA Super Flyweight and IBF Flyweight Champion. Aside from that he's can use either his right or left hand for power punches.

@ hiverprintemps, the name donaire was hispanic not french.

    edit:

For the last name of DONAIRE the Census Bureau reports the following race / ethnic origin breakdown:

*8.37 percent, or 18 total occurrences, were "Non-Hispanic White Only"

Insignificant percent, or Less than 100 total occurrences, were "Non-Hispanic Black Only"

*27.91 percent, or 60 total occurrences, were "Non-Hispanic Asian and Pacific Islander Only"

*0 percent, or None reported total occurrences, were "Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaskan Native"

*Insignificant percent, or Less than 100 total occurrences, were "Non-Hispanic of Two or More Races"

*62.33 percent, or 134 total occurrences, were "Hispanic Origin"

I say it is Donaire"the Filipino flash" but he is not going to be the replacement of Manny Pacquiao or have the same treatment of fans like Manny have today. Even if Donaire win bouts after bouts he cannot be Manny Pacquiao. Both of them are contrast to one another, while Donaire is ignoring his entire family in the Philippines and have so much anger with his father and other siblings, Manny is giving blessing to his constituent in Gensan before and now in Saranggani and provided enough to her mother and other siblings even to the father who abandoned them, he gave him savings to put up his own business. MAYABANG SI DONAIRE compared to a humble god fearing Pacquiao. I would also like to see Donaire knock cold in the canvass too with another Mexican fighter. As I said before, we cannot always win in boxing or anything in life. We must taste also defeat and failure in life to know what is the meaning of it.

You never notice it? Yes the air of ARROGANCE in Nonito Donaire everytime he is featured or after the fight when he send the other guy in the canvass. As if he is completely invincible. Well only time can tell, look at Manny today. Donaire might suffer the same fate in the future, we never know.

I'll go for the guy with the French name DONAIRE means give him some air.

@ Then if he's spanish means he's origin french, never been this name a spanish. In that case his name would be donario. If you take Don as Mister or "Senior" in Spanish, AIRE IS NOT SPANISH so it would be translated to Aero in spanish. Where as "don" in french" give" in english and "aire " is air in english .

In spanish language "don"basically address to someone distinctive . Someone with high position or wealth. But in french is just a common word for giving.
