Clothes Washer Mystery?

When starting a top loading clothes washer, some water goes into the tub but most spills on the floor underneath the unit. the hoses and clamps underneath appear sound and not leaking. Where

Sounds like there's a crack in the tub. Or the there could be a split in on of the hoses hidden from sight. Depending on the machine you might be able to take some of the casing panels off and do a test run. That's what I would do. Run the machine as a skeleton and determine whee the water is leaking from.
