How to root a Kyocera Rise to work for month to month?
I wanted to use a Kyocera Rise I have, so I went to best buy and the guy there told me that it's a contract phone, and I'd have to root it for it to work with something like Boost or Virgin. How do I go about doing this, anyone have things to the programs I need? How do I install then, ect. ect. I'm new to phone stuff, don't really even know the start of how to do this but I would like to get this working ASAP

this person didn't know what they were saying
this is a CDMA smartphone. you would need to take the phone to a Boost or Virgin dealer that is willing to flash it to their network (generally they refuse)
also it can't be done if you paid the discounted price for the phone, since you would be locked into a 2-year contract with whatever wireless company it came from.
