Why do sites keep asking me to upgrade Firefox?

I have a Mac and am on OS X 10.7.5 (current) and Firefox 17.0.1 (current)

I have no clue why sites keep telling me to upgrade. For example, on Yahoo I get a bar on the bottom asking me to upgrade. It happens on other sites too but I don't recall off the top of my head.

Some sites I can't even do certain things and have to switch to Safari. I'm sure Apple would prefer that, but Firefox has always been good til recently.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

They may have updated the sites where you visit, and Firefox no longer works with them you will have to wait until there is an update for Firefox. This seems to occur frequently with Apple computers, updates occur on the web and the Firefox team probably updates the Windows version first.

i take advantage of the two IE7 and Firefox 2 and that i myself desire Firefox. i'm no longer able to make certain any reason all of us could discover IE7 clever after utilising firefox or opera. utilising firefox provides much less opportunities for viruses to get in too

  • Firefox sux so bad as of late, that I've been using the COMODO DRAGON browser and simply love it!

Firefox has had issues with YouTube working correctly for quite some time, its really ticked me off.

Other browsers work fine, EXCEPT for Firefox. They keep dropping the ball. :/

Probably is asking you to update some of your firefox addons, maybe a flash plug-in or something of the like.
