Need help with our 2004 Pontiac Aztec car?

Had a new battery put in in late October. Periodically the battery light comes on, but only when the gas pedal is not pushed. Had battery checked it's in all working order. Car is running fine, meter also says that the alternator is putting out low voltage. Besides the alternator going is there anything else that could be causing this to happen? Fuse? Regulator? Or possibly any other issues that anyone on here could think of? Would like to go the inexpensive route before paying $200.00 and changing an alternator that does not need changed. I only have a very narrow amount of time to get this done (by Sunday the 16th). Any help would be appreciated.

Go to Auto zone or discount auto parts and tell them your chk eng light is on and could someone "read the code" for u..they will come outside and turn the key on and put an OB2 reader in the plug u never noticed under your steering column. Your car's computer will spit out the codes and he will tell u if its a sensor or whatever and u may be able to fix it right there, they will sell u the part and help put it in..if its more serious, at least u will know before the mechanic robs u.

Battery light will only come on if system voltage falls below a certain threshold. It isnt for the battery at all even though it shows a picture of the battery. It is mainly for the alternator, also make sure the cables that connect to the battery are clean & tight. You do not want any type of corrosion on the metal part that touches the battery, it will cause problems ike it has a dead battery when there is a lot of moisture outside or when it is cold

Within the electronic department at Wal-mart/goal or an identical, that you could buy a CD participant cleaner - a number of one of a kind manufacturers. Try a number of; if it would not work, you aren't out a entire lot of $$. If the above does no longer work, and it's not more likely to work; you're both going to spend a lot of money, or not take heed to CDs on your Aztec. Instead than spending a lot of money, exchange in the auto on a a brand new auto with a new CD participant with a guarantee.

Go ahead and change it if you don't have a monster amp on your radio. Diodes weak or belt loose. Its time anyways!
