Costs for supplying and fitting a gas central heating system and boiler.?

I'm looking for a reasonable ballpark figure for supplying and fitting of a full GCH system and condensing combi boiler to a traditional 2 bedroom mid terrace house.

Anyone any thoughts?

Mine fitted 2 years ago - baxi combi boiler, rads and all pipework - cost £3,600.

This was through a local heating engineer.

British gas quoted almost £5,000 !

Edit; forgot, if you're interested - 2 bed also, total of 5 rads.

You do not need a gas safe engineer to install the system. The gas safe engineer only has to install a gas supply to the boiler, a Plumber can do all the other pipe work and install the boiler, and commission it.

The only sensible way is to ask at least three separate installers to visit and quote. Start with British Gas Services as they will tell you the best solution, but may not be the cheapest. CheckaTrade will have Central Heating Installers in your area. They may do deferred terms, but you will have to ask all the installers about this. Your bank may be able to loan you the dosh. Worth enquiring.

You can do all the radiator and pipework yourself and save at least a grand. See the link. I have installed three CH systems that work a treat. Just by reading up on the subject. It's not at all difficult for an average DIY guy. Wickes rads are good and you shop around for pipe and fittings. If you can't solder use push fit fittings which are perfectly ok.

Approx £2500 upwards depending on fittings and boiler.

Rip off south east of england could be much more.

Get 2 other quotes as well, British Gad are the most expensive in the country. You need Gas-Safe registered installers.

Will depend on size of boiler, number of rads etc. I would expect to allow 4000 to 5500 pounds. Many do free estimates eg british gad
