Is ibuprofen as effective at maintaining heart health as aspirin?

They are both NSAIDs, and both thin the blood curtailing clotting. Do they equally provide a benefit to the heart when taken in low doses on a daily basis?

No...two entirely different chemical makeups. Its NSAID properties do not make it "like asprin." It is true that ibuprofen has anti-platelete properties, however it is not as effective as aspirin. Its properties are also short lived compared to aspirin.

Ibuprofen is also a vasoconstrictor. Chronic use can lead to increased risk of Hypertension as well as Myocardial Infarction.
