Do a lot of people dislike/hate Queen just because Freddie Mercury was gay?

A lot of people like Queen. They were hugely popular when they were around (the new incarnation doesn't count), and are still very popular/Mercury is a legend. If a lot of people dislike them because he was gay, then I can only imagine if those people got over their homophobia, Queen would be the most popular band in the history of the world.

No. people who like Queen for their track, they don't care that Freddie Mercury became gay. no greater advantageous than they care a pair of lot of solid entertainers, the two lady and male, being gay.

I don't think so; they had been around for about 15 years before he came out so lots of people would have had to suddenly decide they didn't like them any more!

he has a great voice and queen had some good tunes so how can you not like them ?

I've never heard anyone bash them because of that. music speaks louder then ignorance..well at least it should.
